It's never a good sign when...

you go to pick up your prescriptions and they have to give you their JUMBO bag to hold them all.

We had a great spring break in Utah. Rachel had diabetes clinic at Primary Children's last Wednesday and then we headed down to Moab with my parents for some hiking. I'll post pictures later...

Rachel had an awesome clinic visit. Her A1c was 6.8 which means nothing to anyone but us and it is EXCELLENT! The goal for kids her age is 7.4 and that is a challenge, to get below 7.4 is REMARKABLE so we were so thrilled that she is doing so well--it is a lot of work, but she's worth it!

My dad gave Rachel his dad's (her great-grandfather's) insulin holder which is fun for her to have. Hopefully there won't be anyone else to pass it on to!

A couple more pictures I've been meaning to post...

This is me shredding the information about preschool sign-ups for next year because...SETH'S IN KINDERGARTEN BABY!!! No more tuition!!! or carpooling!!!

Lastly...I don't know if he's onto something, but Jonah has made himself a panic room in the play room... In the unlikely event of a disaster the rest of us will be in the coat closet where all the emergency supplies are.

Weekend(s) Update with Becky Hansen...

Oh my. Where has the time gone?? February was a bit of a whirlwind. All good. Well, mostly...
Here's what we've been up to...

The kids had a 4 day weekend over President's Day, so we headed down to SLC to meet Samuel Peter Whitaker...my sister Karen's baby. Oh, he is so sweet! The kids love their new cousin.

Back to Idaho for a baby shower for Annie and the Pinewood Derby. Jonah did really well this year placing 3rd in the Bear Den.

Then to our delight Annie's babies came 5 weeks early. What a treat. Mostly for her! I was lucky enough to get to be in the waiting room while they were born and was thier first visitor! So we've added 2 more boy cousins...

Cael Peter Manning

AND...

Whitaker Alan Manning

They have waited a long time for this. It was such a wonderful day! The boys were in the NICU for a couple of weeks while they got better at eating, but now are both home and doing great!
Cael stayed in the hospital a little longer than Whit, so I got to go babysit during the day while Ann went to the hospital to spend time with Cael (thanks Jared for working from home those days so I could go!) I'm so glad I get to live so close to them!

Whit on the way home from the hospital...
Little Cael all hooked up...
The kids got to see them through a window in the NICU, but have not met in person yet. They can hardly wait, but I think we'll wait a little longer just so we don't infest their little bodies with our germs!
They did make lots of Welcome Home signs and here is a little letter Luke wrote the night they were born...
So that's what has been keeping us busy. Life is good.
