After a long sabbatical of sorts...I went to the dentist today. I am embarrassed to say how long it has been. But all is well, I do have 2 cavities, but I was expecting him to recommend removing all my teeth and make me some dentures. I'll take the cavities. I don't know why I was so nervous to go...but I have overcome my fear. I'm back on the smile wagon!
In case any of you are sceptical of my comments on Jonah and reading, I was at the school today and took this picture. He did not know I was there.
It was recess and there is my son sitting in the middle of the field reading! I need to send this picture to Mrs. Grabruck--his 2nd grade teacher in Texas. She'd never believe it!
I took Jonah to the doctor yesterday. We switched pediatricians...let's just say I didn't love the first one we tried. So now we are going to a doctor who went to medical school with Jared's brother Matt. I guess he's been trying to get Matt to move out to Boise for some time. Anyway when he came in to look at Jonah's wrist he asked me if Jonah or Seth (who was also with me) were the kids with diabetes or epilepsy--"No", I replied, "These are just my two accident prone children."
So the verdict on Jonah's wrist...It is broken. We will be going in for a cast on Thursday once we get the swelling down a bit.
And the summer injuries begin...

That is an amazing picture! I can only dream. I love that you sneak to watch your kids at recess. Hilarious.
What a classic picture of Jonah, still hard to believe it's him. ( : Sorry to hear about his wrist - that's a total bummer!
I thought I had been checking your blog but apparently not as often as I thought! I loved the catching up on everyone...especially the great pics of Rachel's b'day. How fun she wants to play the cello, Allison's Steven plays and it's so soothing to listen...or at least yours will be after she gets some practice under her belt. And I have to tell you, the finding a modest bathing suit only gets worse as I know from years of teenage experience!
Congratulations to Jared about his award, and I love the picture of Jonah reading on the playground.
BTW, KitKats are my favorite too, only like you, they have to be from Europe or somewhere else, these Indian ones are great!
Wow. I just want to know what book started this turn around for Jonah! Wish I had caught the reading bug before Harry Potter came out and I was already about 22.Sigh. I think it was books like Hatchet and The Old Man and the Sea that turned me off as a child. Or Junior Great Books. Don't judge me...I'm sure I'd have an appreciation for them now-they just seemed a little boring at the time. Just cut the line, old man! ;) Kidding. It's a classic, I know.
Ok, that is a great picture!!!! Very very cool!
Love that picture! He's always striked me as the poetic one. He use to have declarations in my car.... remember his Fran's house statement? :)
