A Double Feature

Stake Conference was today and Rachel did a wonderful job. She was so nervous, but you could hardly tell. She held it together well. It helped to have Sophie P. sitting about 4 rows back and right in line with Rachel. I'd see her look at Sophie and then get a big smile on her face. It's good to have such great friends.

Elder Marlin K. Jensen, who is a friend of my parents from Law School, was presiding and surprised us all by asking Dad to bear his testimony. I think dad was the most surprised...to speak to a congregation of people who he only knew 6 of. After the meeting a former member of the singles ward he was Bishop of came up to say hello to him and my mom. It's a small world.

One of our babysitters, who was going to attend the afternoon session, graciously offered to watch Seth. So the meeting was very enjoyable. At one point Luke was drawing and enjoying himself and then he got a frown on his face and said, "I'm sad." I asked why and he said, "Because Grandma and Grandpa have to leave in one day."

It's been a beautiful weekend and a great visit. Tomorrow we are going to spend the day in the Lakewood Elementary Cafeteria enjoying 3 lunch times with the kids. What a treat!
