I am a great boy. But most of all I love you mom. Luke
I volunteer in Luke's class on Thursday mornings. Today when I got there he was busy making me this card. It was sweet. Jonah was always quiet when I came, but when it was time for me to leave, he would come give me a huge hug and the red-in-the-face return to his desk. It embarrassed him to hug me, but he wanted to each time. Things have changed a bit... ;)
Homework time tonight was a nightmare. Jonah had a major melt down refusing to cooperate. On Thursday's his homework is to pick an activity from a list and using the weeks spelling words complete the activity. If you do more than one you can get bonus points. Jonah can use some extra points right now, so on Wednesday--unknown to him--I had him write his words on index cards and thus complete an extra activity. So tonight when he melted down, he had an assignment in his pocket, but I couldn't let him get away with the behavior, so I had to stand my ground and make him do something. He wouldn't comply to any of the activities on his sheet, so we made up our own. I don't know if she'll give him credit for it because it wasn't on the list, but since he has his flashcards he'll be okay.
So Jonah spelled each spelling word on the fridge with Seth's letters and we took a picture of him with each one and printed them out on a word document. Being creative quickly turned the evening around and the tears were gone and he was cooperating. I am worn out.
