Cotton Candy in Tomball

I've decided to begin a series of posts about things in Tomball. Although I try not to talk about it because it makes me sad and other people around here cranky...we have a buyer for our house and are planning on moving in July. So as we spend our last months here...I will be doing a photo essay of sorts of all of the things that I love about Texas...and believe it or not...Tomball. Oh, and some of the things I find strange as well...there are plenty of those too.

So I'll start with cotton candy. This would be in the strange category.

We had a Stake Picnic on Saturday. I was not going to take the boys by myself...but then I realized how dumb it would be to pass up a free meal and play time for the boys so we went. Rachel was with Sophie and Eric. They too were at the picnic. Eric thinks I came to check in on them...but no we were just there for the food.

Of course the boys cannot pass up an opportunity to indulge themselves in some cotton candy and snow cones. What a treat. It was March 10...and about 80 degrees. Somewhat typical...and it could drop down to 32 again tomorrow. But what happens to cotton candy when it's 80 degrees and 75% humidity?? It melts. It is a sticky gooey mess. Mix that with a couple of snow cones and a big sand box to play in. That = an afternoon bath. Nothing like sticky, sandy boys. But that also = a good time and tired kids.

So will I miss melting cotton candy? Probably not, but I love that we have experienced it!

I think "cranky" pretty much sums it up. I'm trying to be like the little engine that could and try to convince myself "I'm happy for the Hansen's, I'm happy for the Hansen's I know I am I know I am....I know I am .....not...... :o)

kidding of course! There's no doubt it will be painful to see you and your family leave. BUT, at least I'll still get to read your blog, a poor substution for the real thing, but will still bring some comfort!! and a few laughs!
