Spring Break has Begun...

The kids had a half day on Friday and are out all of this week. Always a treat...and I always wish I had more energy to haul them all around and show them wonderful things in Houston. We made it to a "bounce house" today...that's all I can take. The rest of the vacation should bring better adventures than a warehouse full of inflatable slides. But hey did have fun.

My pear trees have started to flower. They are beautiful. My "ode to California" corner in the yard which consists of a palm tree and some hibiscus is all but dead. The hibiscus from the many freezing spells we had this winter and the palm from some yucky nasty white wormy bugs. I planted them all when we first moved here to remind me of my beloved Valencia home...yes those of you who are 24 watchers...we moved here from Valencia and are lucky to be alive!

Today has been beautiful...we had an early morning storm which I love...the kids all slept long enough that I could enjoy it and not have to jump out of bed.

Sophie slept over last night--I'm always amazed she's willing to come back with the way the boys go crazy when she is here.

Jared is currently in China and so the kids decided they wanted to eat their dinner with chop sticks in his honor. It started out as a sort of "stomp" type experience. Rachel was trying to orchestrate them all to different beats that would sound nice together. Didn't take. Then Seth started sticking his up his nose...which we had to put a stop to.
