Jonah had a great day today. It started out with a trip to Barnes and Noble to collect a reward.
Back in March I was there with Jonah, Luke and Seth and as we were leaving Jonah found a $20 on the ground. I didn't even see him pick it up, but he immediately showed it to me and wanted to turn it in.
We went to the desk and I made him tell the lady that he had found it and was turning it in. She took his name and phone # and told him that if it wasn't collected in a month they would give it to him.
Well, almost 3 months have passed. He's asked about it every few weeks. About a week ago I was considering giving him a $20 and telling him it was from the bookstore--to encourage good choices! ;)
So, Sunday night the lady from B&N called and said he could come pick it up on Tuesday when she was at work. She gave Jonah the money and told him how impressed she was that he was honest. He thanked her--even almost looking her in the eye--and we were off. I hope he remembers the experience and continues to make good choices!
Cub camp is going well. They learned to tie knots today, so we had a knot demo when he got home. He is feeling quite grown up. I can't believe he's almost 8!
We have finally got his baptism worked out. Jared got permission from our Bishop to do it up in Idaho in Redfish Lake. Since my whole family will be gathered for a reunion in Sun Valley we decided we should take advantage of having that many people together...especially when it's just a week after his birthday! Jared's parents will drive over from Boise and meet us.
There is a significance with Redfish Lake--that is where Jared and I got engaged almost 14 years ago. Who knew we'd be baptizing one of our kids there!! Time flies! Jonah is quite excited. It will be an interesting experience.

Your family will be missed more than you will ever realize. We love you guys.
That's cool he is going to be baptized in Redfish Lake, that will be a special memory. You've got to love good choices, especially when you get $20 out of it!!
a "RIVER!!"... a "RIVER!!" famous quote by a small redhead in your home. :o)
I can't wait for pictures!
Everything comes full circle does it not? I could break out into a rendition of the Circle of Life from the Lion King, but I will resist. That is way cool.
