White shoes, white shoes...

Isn't there a poem or book that starts out like that?

I sorted through a box of Rachel's old shoes the other day and, my oh my, how many pairs of white sandals can one girl have?! To be fair there are 9 pair and she is ten years old...about one pair a year is fair, right?

Most of them got sent up to goodwill--but I will forever keep my favorite pair of her little toddler shoes. This brown pair that Jared's sister Camille bought at a garage sale for like $1!!

I don't know why I loved them so much. I have tried over the years to find another pair and have been unsuccessful. They are fisher price brand--which I'm wondering if they just made this one pair and then stopped the shoe business. None the less I love them! Thanks Camille!!

Luke had his last neurology appointment with Dr. Fishman today. Apparently it would have been his last regardless of the move--Dr. Fishman is retiring at the end of the month.

The appointment went well. Luke seems to be tolerating the Zarontin well enough--the headaches, stomach aches and lethargy are not big enough problems to warrant switching medications again at this point. ;) We have to be happy with those things and no more seizures.

At the appointments they make him hyper-ventilate for 3 minutes to try to induce seizure activity. This time Luke had none--which means the Zarontin is working. Yeah! He has to be seizure free for 2+ years to go off the medication...right now we're only at about 5 days seizure free, so we have a long way to go. Things are looking up though!

Today was the last day of cub camp. Jonah came home with a key holder he made. I told him we can hang it in the laundry room in our new house. He had a great time and is excited to start cub scouts when we get to Boise.

Signing off...

I thought of that poem when I first pulled up your blog & saw the picture - funny. New Shoes New shoes red pink and blue shoes... It was one of my favorite poems growing up. Hope the packing is going well. Love you!

I can't believe Dr. Fishman is retiring! That's kind of trickey refering me to a great Dr. who is hanging up his coat. Just kidding. I am glad that the medication is slowly working its way to stability. Way to go Luke! (on the swimming and meds).
