High of 90º...

It's a slight contrast to the 29º morning we left Chicago. It rained and rained all day yesterday. There was flooding in Houston...roads up here were even closed. Apparently it was pretty bad down in the city. I'm hoping the heat will dry it up fast...our yard is a mess with all the branches, leaves and pine needles from the weeks storms. I'm itchin' to clean it up, but it's too wet now. The worst part of it all...we may have to postpone the making of fall soups for a bit longer. It's just too hot.

I came to grips with the fact that we really have acclimated to Tomball. I found myself at Wal-Mart this morning, Seth was in his pajama top--no pants (they didn't make it back on after the morning's diaper change)--and no shoes. He, of course, would not stay in the cart so he was running circles around me. I myself have not yet showered--we went straight from dropping the kids off at school. Anyway, it was one of those moments that I thought if I saw anyone I knew, particularly from home, I'd be embarrassed.

Seth just came in and asked me to change his diaper. I told him to go and get a diaper and the wipes. He said, "No, mommy's turn." Duty calls...
