W. Lafayette, IN

We left Cincinnati on Wednesday afternoon and made our way to Indiana. We stopped first at Happy Hollow Elementary to see Dianna Rathert--Jared's 3rd & 6th grade teacher. She was his favorite teacher (she made a big impression on a very shy boy--AND--she's very pretty) and he's been fortunate to keep in touch with her over the years. It was fun to see her again (Jared and I went down once when we lived in Chicago) and to introduce the kids to her. They had a great time writing on her white board and seeing all the neat things she has in her classroom.

Jared took us on the grand tour of W. Lafayette showing us all his favorite parks and the house they lived in. He even took us on his paper route which was VERY exciting. It was just beautiful there. The trees are breath taking right now.

We headed over to Purdue and walked around a little--it was FREEZING by then--and went to have some dinner. While I was waiting with Jonah and Luke I said, "What has been your favorite thing today?" Luke said, "seeing Daddy's parks." Jonah said, "Hey, I thought we were going to go see where daddy grew up in Indiana!" We have obviously made an impression with our kids on this "walk down memory lane" trip!
