Random Thoughts...

I would be a terrible garbage man.

After observing mine and the ease at which they pass over large items blown to the street only to sit until a good citizen, like myself, takes the initiative to pick it up...I would be fired after my first day I'm sure. I can picture myself chasing after each little scrap that blown in the wind, stomping it down with my foot to secure it from going any farther...and then having to quench the urge to personally squirt out each person's garbage can with the water hose...it would be too much of a temptation. So it's a good thing I chose "homemaker" as my profession...although some days I feel like maybe it is just a fancy name for the former...

If I didn't give birth to her myself I'd think I had the wrong child.

At 5:53 a.m. Jared and I were woken to the sound of Seth saying, "I'm on the carpet, Mommy." I waited patiently as my sick husband got up to see what was going on. Seth was on the stairs, clearly disoriented. At the sight of Jared he rand to his bed and demanded his blanket--most likely "in a square". He doesn't take kindly to mis-shapen blankies. (No question he IS my child.)

At precisely 6:05 a.m. I hear Rachel's alarm go off. Why in the sam hill would ANYONE choose to get themselves up 3 hours before they had to be anywhere?? I, myself, choose to get up no earlier than 45-60 minutes before ANY engagement. In fact--when scheduling my own wedding ceremony I chose a 10:20ish time slot at the temple so as to avoid having to get up too early on the big day.

After the alarm I hear the clanging of dishes downstairs (with her new pump she is able to fix her own breakfast now!! She counts the carbs and enters the number into the pump with her blood sugar and it does all the calculations. It is WONDERFUL!). All the while I'm in bed thinking, "Who is this girl?" In High School when I was on the drill team and had to be to school early--we were fortunate enough to live across the street from the school. I would get up approximately 20-30 minutes before practice, shower...put on my practice clothes and head oer to the school with my hair still wet. I was blessed with the gift of straight hair which by the end of practice would be perfectly curled under in a bob.

So I couldn't fall back to sleep after Rachel was up...knowing full well I had another 2 hours of good sleepin' time until I NEEDED to get the boys up. So I decided to come down and use my computer--which at 6:30 is apparently free.

Rachel came in and said..."You know what's weird? It's usually daddy I find down here on the computer--but he's still up in bed this time. What's going on?" Can't fool that girl.

Well Monday is here...I'm feeling motivated for the moment. I have to give blood today...I know I'm a giver. I think I'll go take a nap until the boys get up...

I'd like to thank all the blood-givers of the world. Ally had 3 transfusions last week. Bless you.

Have a good week!

Rachel is a real go getter...I, like you, was never up 3 hours before I had to be somewhere (particularly that early in the morning). Glad to hear that her new pump is so great!

I think you're right - housewife=garbageman or the like.
Thanks for the laugh!

I can relate, and even though I am completely A type, Daria seems to be ultra A type.

I'm with you on the sleep front. Although, it's a dangerous time for me to justify more sleep...I'm completely irrational when I'm waking up in the morning and usually the plans I make up in my head to give me that extra 10 min. tend to be a big mistake. I've gotten better, though, since my clients come as early as 6:00am. I'm forced to be an early riser.:(
