More blood work for Luke yesterday. I think he looks at it as a test of his manhood. He is quite a pro at it now. We have a system where he sits on my lap and holds my hand to squeeze when they stick the needle in. When I get blood drawn I have to look away for the poke...not Luke! He stares it straight in the face. I think it helped watching Ryan get blood drawn so many times!
Speaking of Ryan...we are reminded each day what a miracle life is. Enjoy it! Please keep the Edgington family in your prayers. I do not know them personally, but have watched a bit from afar as they too fought Neuroblastoma. Sweet little Carlie passed away last Saturday.
There is another family that I have watched for the past year or so...the Thomas Family.
Jill told me of their family back in August of 2006 when Christie was very sick. I found myself everyday checking in to see how she was doing. I would say I became a bit consumed with the whole thing. Christie was exactly 1 month and 1 day younger than Rachel. As I perused her blog with many pictures I came upon many, many pictures that were IDENTICAL to ones we had taken of Rachel. We both obviously frequented "The Picture People" and had at least a dozen or so pictures with the same props at the same age! It was a bit eerie.
Christie passed away in September of 2006 from Neuroblastoma. I remember feeling so grateful for Rachel and her health...and then feeling guilty that another family had to loose their little girl. Anyway, I still check in now and then to see how Christie's parents and little sister are doing.
So for today...from our prophet Gordon B. Hinckley...
BE GRATEFUL, Be Smart, Be Clean, Be True, Be Humble and Be Prayerful!
