We surprised Rachel on Wednesday...Jared needed to go to Houston and so we got her a ticket too! It was so fun. The kids had a snow day on Wednesday, so we all took Jared to the airport. When we got there this was the exchange...
Jared: Now what was I supposed to get Sophie for her birthday? (Sophie's birthday was Sunday)
Rachel: A Best Friends charm from James Avery...
Jared: I'm not sure which one...why don't you just come and pick it out!
Rachel screamed, but wasn't quite sure if he was serious--he rarely is, so it is hard to tell sometimes.
Rachel: But I don't have any clothes...
Becky: Don't worry I packed everything for ya!
This is when the total breakdown started. She cried and cried. She was overwhelmed to say the least!!
So they got to Houston late Wedneseday night. The Smith's were so kind to host! Hannah didn't know that Rachel was coming, so Thursday morning Rachel knocked on Hannah's bedroom door and gave Hannah quite a surprise! They've had a great time together!
Today Jared took Rachel over to the elementary to see her teachers and then over to see our favorite school nurse Barbara! Jared took Rachel over to our house which was the hardest part of it all for her. She cried and cried. She's homesick for Texas...

After going to the house Jared dropped her off at the Pearson's. Sophie was just about to come home from school, so Carrie had Rachel get into a box. When Sophie got home Carrie told her she had a birthday present that was just delivered today! Sophie opened the box and there was Rachel! Sophie cried. I wish I could've been there to see it. She will sleep over at the Pearson's tongiht and Saturday...she gets to go see Sophie in action at her soccer games tomorrow. Jared is going to get her briefly to go watch the funeral of President Hinckley--our dear prophet who passed away on Sunday night--and to go visit the Beckham's our neighbors in the cul

On Sunday they will go to church to see our Tomball Ward family and then head back...I think it is probably good that I didn't go because I think I wouldn't have wanted to come back.

Thanks to Carrie--I pirated the pictures off her blog--and for being willing to take a shift on taking care of "Rachel with diabetes"--which Sarah's girls affectionately refer to her as!! ;)
