The kids had Good Friday off last week, and I mustered up enough energy to go on an outing. We headed south east to Anahuac to the Wildlife Refuge.If you haven't been--and live in the area--you need to go. It is a treat. And FREE!
The first time we went was just a few weeks after moving to Houston. My sister Ann came to visit and, being the birder that she is, took us to a bird refuge.
We have been back several times since. The kids LOVE it because they get to get out of their seatbelts and hang out the windows watching for birds and best of all--ALLIGATORS! This trip the temperature was about 70 degress--blue skies--and we saw a good 15+ alligators. It was a successful trip.
