Not so Jazzed...and the steely ball...

Jared and I got to go to the playoff game last night between the Jazz and the Rockets. Our friend who works for Deloitte & Touche had 2 extra tickets in their suite. It was like Christmas morning for Jared when he got the message. He had a grin on his face until about half time!

It was a good game...unfortunately not for the Jazz or Jazz fan in the arena. I was torn. (Not really) It's always fun to cheer for the home team, but being from Utah I did feel some loyalties--particularly to my husband who had a difficult time keeping his team preference hushed. Had we been in the stands and not in the suite I think he would have felt free to cheer Utah on.

I will say--I read an article in ESPN magazine the other day that gave me a bad taste in my mouth for Jerry Sloan. So I have some hard feelings I have to get over before I can be totally supportive of his team again.

Anyway, we had a great time. I'm pooped this morning and glad we don't have 9:00 church at least for today.

So the steely ball...ever played the game Mouse Trap? It has a little steely ball about the size of a marble...well, Seth's intestines are housing the steely ball from our game right now. Yesterday afternoon about 10 minutes after I got home Seth started to choke a bit...he was still breathing fine, but kept saying "the ball hurts me". Jared said he'd seen the boys playing with that ball and when they went to locate it--it was gone.

I ran him to the emergency room and 45 minutes $100 later we had an X-ray showing it was in his intestines. Thank goodness for gravity!! So they sent me home to keep an eye out for it--if you know what I mean. All I can say is that it is much easier to locate things in diapers. So my laziness in potty training has paid off!!

Why can my children not have catastrophes during regular business hours? It would sure be a lot cheaper!

All I can say is it will be amazing to see what kind of stories we hear about Seth when he is a teenager!!! That boy is up to something!

Instead of going to my EMT classes, I think I might just start coming over to your house and learning there.
