It is so hard to believe it's been 10 years that we have had Rachel with us. Where did the time go? I've often thought it was a dirty trick to have her come first because medical issues aside--she has been such an easy and pleasant child (except recently on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoon's when she has soccer or piano.)
Rachel has been a very happy girl. When she was little she was always smiling and laughing. She's always been in a hurry to learn new things. Hard to keep up with. She loves to read, and generally has 3 books she is in the middle of at one time. Her teacher has recently had to make extra lesson plans just for Rachel because she is so quick to finish her work and anxious for something else to do...DNA tests have proved that she was not switched at birth and IS--in fact--actually my daughter.
Tonight when we had cake I asked her brothers and dad what they loved about Rachel:
Jared: "She laughs at my jokes and she is so helpful to me and mom."
Jonah: "She's adorable and kind." (He was trying to be a smart alek...but I know deep down he means it.)
Luke: "She's nice and plays school with me."
Seth: "Toast!" "Stinkey!" (Those are two words that Seth thinks are funny and says frequently and then laughs at himself.)
I'll tell you what I love about Rachel...she is interrested in a lot of things--or at least pretends to be sometimes to appease me. She is a HUGE help around here. We couldn't do it all with out her. She is a great example to her brothers and is a great big sister.
She chooses good friends. She is kind to everyone. She loves to play games. She's got a good sense of humor. For a young girl she has a strong testimony of the gospel and the scriptures. She loves her family--and her family loves her!! Happy Birthday Rachie!!

Beautiful picture, Becky! I miss all those Texas flower fields!
The list of things we love about Rachel is also long. She is sweet, funny and is a great friend to Sophie. She and I have decided she is going to live with us when you leave!!!!! She has a strong sense of wrong and right and that will help her in her life. I hope some has rubbed off on Sophie.
