So for Mother's Day I got the Wii Fit. I LOVE it! The rest of the family is quite fond of it as well. So June has been declared as family fitness month. Jared has come up with a point system and rewards for the winners. We have each set some goals and we get points for the amount of time we exercise each day...on the Wii and off.
Jared has been finding his inner-self doing the Yoga the past few days. My favorite is the step-aerobics and the hoola-hoop--both of which I am the family master at.
To be honest I think the thing that keeps me the most motivated is beating Jared's scores. ;) It's all in good fun.
Two and a half more days left of school and for the first time in my life I can hardly wait! I am so tired of the morning routine and making lunches...not to mention the MANY projects which have popped up (for me) as of late...like camp "care packages", bringing Popsicles etc. and all the little picnics etc.
Just so you know why I'm not in the running for "Mother of the Year" again...here is a small list of things I've forgotten in the past couple of weeks...
- Scouts x2
- An regional award ceremony which Rachel was invited to for having her poem selected for the State PTA Reflections contest.
- Jonah's (optional) egg drop on Friday
- Luke's "Author's Tea" on Friday (I should have listened to you Jen!)
There are many more I'm sure...I just can't remember them!
Luke came in from school on Friday and the first thing he said was, "It's okay that you missed my 'Author's Tea' Mom." Talk about twisting the knife...he is such a great kid and didn't want me to feel bad that I'd forgotten.
So if I can just remember the school assembly on Tuesday morning and Jonah's class event on Wednesday I think I'll be okay...would someone please call to remind me?

I was wondering if we should get the wii fit. Is it really a good workout or more for fun? Also, I forgot the book thing on Friday too! We should have reminded each other! Duh, I felt so bad.
I'm sure your kids are ready to trade you in on a less forgetful model. ( ; The nice thing is that kids forget those things as quickly as they happen, so you've got nothing to worry about.
The family fit competition sounds like a lot of fun...can't wait to hear how things turn out.
You guys have such a fun family! I love the fitness competition idea. Also, I can relate to the forgetfulness thing...the other day I was having a meeting and two of the women forgot all about it. My daughter said, "that's funny mom, usually you're the one who forgets everything." Nice!
p.s. I think you need to post a photo of Jared doing yoga and of you doing the hoola hoop!
I'm so glad to hear that Wii Fit is cool! I was thinking of requesting that for my birthday from Warren - so now you've clinched it! But I don't think I want to wait until the end of August! :)
I want to join your family Wii fit competition. Sounds like fun!
With everything you've been doing, summer may be like a break for you.;) I know your kids' schedules will be busy then too and then you'll be ready for them to be back in school.
